Get Weird With It

         This morning I was looking for some inspiration on what to discuss here. I went to my notes app on my phone and scrolled back to the dawn of time, for me that was 1/12/16. That was the first note where I started writing down ideas for lead generation as an agent. These notes are hilarious to me because I was very comfortable with writing down bad ideas. I love it! My friends were quite gracious for listening to these said “bad ideas” as well and letting me flesh them out. Some of them ended up being quite fruitful like The Louisville Network, which you all now know as DEALS! Off Market. Others were not quite so fruitful, and most were never attempted. Example note:

 

Lead Generation

This is a list I made of things I did to generate leads and would recommend that new agents to attempt to make a list like this as well. I did all of these things sans door knocking. I hired someone on craigslist to do the flyers and the cops got called on them because "they looked very homeless." The cop did not want to buy a house.

I’m a firm believer in work not having to suck. Most of these things I could do sitting in my boxers, in my living room, while watching Netflix, and smoking weed. That hardly feels like work at all! Whatever you have to do to get the work done, do it.

Long story short, try new things. Get weird with it --you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just do you. Sourcing off market deals is the exact same thing as lead generation for agents. All of our wholesaler products can literally be rebranded and sold to realtors. Go throw your business cards in all the how to FSBO (for sale by owner) books at the library and book store. Go throw up a We Buy Houses sign at the back of TopGolf, and definitely give people those Georgia peaches, people love that.
